NHTI AG110 Lab Rework

  • Project Type: Class Library

  • Duration: 1 Month

  • Language: C#

  • Special Tools: Monogame

Description:

I was hired as a contractor by the New Hampshire Technical Institute(NHTI), before the 2016 spring semester, to rework the lab examples for their AG110 class. The reason for the rework is that the school planned to move away from Flash / Actionscript in their program and are now using C#, Monogame, Unity, and Unreal Engine 4.

Not only was I a contractor to perform the work, but I was also used as a consultant on how the course should be structured, and which order the labs should be given in. I worked together with Professors Greg Walek, and Rodney Dellafelice, to rework the course schedule, lab assignments, and created a couple new labs that we felt would be beneficial to the students.

For the actual work on the lab examples I was able to leverage the engine that I had built to power Metallic Void. After the work was done, and the semester was over, I received very positive feedback from Greg and Rodney on how much it helped them, and the students, in the course.

Because the course is still taught at NHTI, and the code could be used to solve the labs, Iā€™m unable to share the source code at this time.

What I did:

  • Created a base application that the students would use for all of their labs for the course

  • Helped re-organize the course schedule and lab assignments

  • Rebuilt all the previous lab examples, that were done in flash, in Monogame using my engine

Project Goals:

  • Re-work lab examples to move away from Flash

  • Help make the course follow a better structure, and facilitate learning for the students
