Banco Blaster
Project Type: Arcade-style target puncher
Duration: 1 Week
Language: C#
Special Tools: Kinect 2
Credits:
Sound Effects: Chris Logsdon
Description:
Banco Blaster was a prototype I helped develop while working at The Atom Group. The idea behind it was to create a game that would entertain children while parents performed their typical banking needs. It was also intended to help bring people back into the brick and mortar banks, instead of doing everything online.
The game was demoed to executives of Popular Community Bank with excellent reception.
What I did:
Integrate Kinect SDK into engine that I built for Metallic Void using Monogame
Render video pulled in from the Kinect to the screen, and replace the background with a custom image.
Created logic to determine strength of arm swings, and if it was hard enough to hit a money bag, for the Hulk style character
Project Goals:
Create a Tech demo of a game, using the Kinect, within a week to pitch to potential clients.
