Description:
Must’ve Been Rats was created by Jake Albano, Chris Logsdon, and myself in 48 hours. The original idea was to make a serious stealth game where the player has to retrieve information from briefcases or computers to progress. We would then work the heart theme of the jam into the game. Well that idea didn’t last long once Chris started trying to draw our main character.
The game still has the stealth aspect to it, but is way more silly than originally planned. However, like The Hero’s Journey, it was a blast to make! The end result is that you can sneak up on guards to scare them and make them pass out for a short period of time. There are briefcases scattered around the level and one of them contains a heart. You have to find the heart and bring it to the elevator, which gets its power from the heart. You can then proceed to the next level.
Must’ve Been Rats received an honorable mention from NHTI president Lynn Kilchenstein. There was also a let’s play video made, which has sadly been taken down by the creator
